Reflection on Blogging Challenge (Last week!!)

The Student Blogging Challenge is coming to an end and I think I’m going to miss it. The Student Blogging Challenge gave me great ideas on what to post each week and it showed me really cool things I could do on my clog. Some things I posted during the Student blogging were fun pictures, facts about the Ukulele, a story I wrote using emoji’s I found randomly, and my Christmas tradition. I really liked the Student Blogging Challenge but there is something I would change to make it even better. I would put links to student’s blogs on the Student Blogging page. Student’s could easily go to other student’s pages and get ideas from them. Even though I’m sad the Student Blogging Challenge is over, I’m excited to post on my own!

My Christmas Tradition

My favorite holiday is Christmas and I can’t wait to tell you how I celebrate it! On Christmas Eve I go to my aunt’s house where me and my cousins give each other our gifts from secret Santa.  After that, we eat all of the delicious deserts our family has made. Then we play with our presents, look at Santa tracker, and just hang out. Around 9:30-10:00, we head home, very excited for Christmas. It’s hard to fall asleep but when we finally do, we wake up to brightly wrapped presents under the tree and stocking filled to the very top with goodies. After we admire our gifts, we go to my aunt’s house where we eat a huge meal and watch Christmas movies.  That my favorite holiday, what’s yours?

My Emoji Story

I went on an emoji generating website to find the 5 emoji’s down below:

I also made a story from the emojis’s below!:

One day while I was on my dad’s boat going fishing, we saw a pod of dolphins dive out of the water and even caught it on camera. It was so cool! After we were done fishing, we went straight home, showed, and then went to get my hair cut. When we were walking towards the hairdressers, a bright green frog leaped up from a bush and hopped right on my dad. We laughed so hard! After we got home my dad had to leave for work so he gave me a kiss goodbye and then left. Later that night, I went to the high school football game were the rams went against the tigers. It was an awsome day!

The Ukulele

One instrument that has always interested me and that I’ve even started to learn is the Ukelele. Last March my uncle, who owns an instrument store, got me a Ukelele as I was very interested in learning it. I know a few songs and love playing it in my free time. Some very interesting facts about the Ukelele is that it was created and is very popular in Hawaii. Ukelele means “jumping flea”  but it’s most common nickname is the uke. The Ukelele was first invented in the 19th century by Hawaiians. The stings on the Ukelele is made out of nylon. The best and most popular Ukelele song of time is “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz. The Ukelele is very interesting and fun to play and I can’t wait to keep playing it!

Beach Poem

The Beach

The sand gets between your toes and melts away your stress

Faint sounds of children and seagulls make your eyes heavy

The hissing sound of the crashing waves floats into your ears

You’re getting hot so you take a dunk in the cool, refreshing water

When you come out you wrap yourself in a towel and take a seat

You take a bite of a turkey sandwich that your mom made

It’s sandy but you don’t mind

Finally, your mom orders you to carry beach supplies back to your car

When you get home you get in a shower and wash the sand off

Days at the beach are always the best
